Angkor Wat, Angkor Thom, Siem Reap

Our first full day in Siem Reap we decided to get a tuk tuk and go see the Temples. It was really fascinating to see the work that had gone into building these temples considering the era that they were built in. Our first stop was Angkor Wat, it is such an enormous site and the detail of the wall drawings were so precise. The boys enjoyed climbing over the steps etc especially Liam. I was very surprised that Amanda thought they were amazing as she isn't really into that. We lasted there about 90minutes and it was just starting to get hot so we decided to go to the next temple area (Angkor Thom). In here there was the Bayon Temple which was very impressive a stunning Temple that was also a fun climb for the boys. But they had had enough and decided to walk back to the tuk tuk driver with Amanda. Amanda left the boys with him and joined me quickly on our last temple. The building itself had no roofs as through the centuries the ruins obviously have been neglected etc. Once finished we met up witht he boys with Liam crying as he missed 'his mummy'.
